EtiUwem is open to individuals and small groups from March to November each year.
(December to March is reserved for centre-hosted events.)

Gathering spaces

The Afe (meeting hall) accommodates 40–50 non-residential guests. There are also indoor and outdoor spaces for smaller conversations and group work

The land and its rhythms

Ikot Nseyen is hilly and green, offering natural invitations to slow down.

  • Hiking paths and elevated views

  • Streams, rivers, and swamp ecosystems within 3–4 km

  • Access to local history and botanical knowledge

  • A community library and nearby schools

  • A specialist medical facility within the village

Guests may explore the landscape, or simply sit with it.

Cost & Accessibility

Our rates are intentionally affordable and subsidised whenever possible.
With sufficient funding, EtiUwem hopes to offer lodging and programmes at no cost.

All bookings are offered on a first-come, first-served basis.

How to apply

Our application process is simple and thoughtful. You’ll be asked for:

  • Personal and contact information

  • A short bio (max 250 words)

  • A statement of intent (max 500 words)

  • One reference letter
